Mission

Our Mission: Our club is dedicated to the pursuit of sailing for its own sake; to provide a safe, family environment for all to enjoy multihull beach craft; and to develop safe sailing skills in all of our members. Our club strives for continuous improvement in the sport and we recognize our obligations to our community. Though we participate in racing, we do so as a fun activity; we do it for the love of the outdoors, our members, and being in harmony with the sea.

This year we've selected Cradle Beach as our charity.

Evangola State Park

N 42' 36.366
W 79' 06.809 is the waypoint for the beach.

Evangola State Park is located about 30 miles southwest of Buffalo, New York on the United States side of Lake Erie. It's a well-maintained public New York State Park, and we have our own boat storage area to the furthest southwestern side of the park.

You'll need a beach membership to keep your boat here and sail out of Evangola. For convenience, we have a storage building (sea-going, 40 foot container) that we store our sailing gear and wetsuits in.

Members with a beach membership will have to purchase an Empire Pass for $59 which gives you unlimited access to all New York State Parks. Daily Park entrance fees can be purchased for around $6. In January 2006 we'll be applying for a group discount, which should cut the cost of the Empire Pass in half.

It's normal for us to have barbeques on a Saturday night or Sunday afternoon after a day of sailing and racing (we have our own grills).

Though the Park is always open for walking and picnics, no boats can be sailed there after the end of October.

Evangola State Park's entrance is on Route 5 in the Village of Angola. Follow the main road towards the beach (west) for 1.7 miles. The boats will be stored in area 3B; you'll see the tractor and wetsuit container and the road going to the beach.

The park is wonderfully maintained and the high quality of the sand makes beach launching easy.

Directions to Rte 5 Park entrance from the South:
Silver Creek exit on Rte 90; head east on rtes 5/20; travel 0.8 miles to the rte 5/20 split and bear left onto rte 5. Park entrance will be 3.5 miles on your left.

Use Google Maps to get specific directions.

Directions to Rte 5 Park entrance from the North (Buffalo):
Head 20 miles west on Rte 5 to Derby Tops Plaza; travel 9.2 miles to the Park Entrance on your right.
